Meet today- home vs Southall

Hi Marlin Families,

I am very excited for the first meet today, our first hosting another team. This update has alot of info, please take the time to read it all and contact me with any questions.

  • Declaration Changes
  • Open Volunteer Positions
  • Practice schedule changes
  • 1st Home meet today
  • Summary of actions needed

Declaration changes:

Any change you need to make (fingers crossed there are none 😊 ) should be reported immediately to Coach Sam (919-455-4975) and me (919-345-9359) as there are updates we need to make in the meet software and printouts for the meet.

Open Volunteer Positions:

Thank you to all who have signed up to volunteer. Currently, we have not filled the following positions for our meet tomorrow:

  • Relief timer- float to give breaks to other MSRC timers
  • Order of Finish Judge- NEED to have- work with Southall's OOF Judge to determine 1st-6th for main events only as a backup to timing system and in case a timer misses a time.
  • Ribbon Delivery- hand out heat winner and participant ribbons for heats for ages 10 and younger.

We cannot run the meet until these positions are filled.

***We could also use help setting up the pool deck for the meet- lining up chairs behind blocks, arranging deck chairs, installing rope around pool, etc. It would help greatly if anyone could arrive early to help and it would also get you a closer street parking space!

Practice Changes Summer practice hours: START NEXT WEEK.

Reminder that there is no practice this Thursday

Please note that starting next week we will follow summer hours and practice on Tuesday will be in the morning.

Meet today- at home vs Southall

For new swim parents there is more information on what to expect at a meet, what to bring, info about events, etc. located on our team website under the meets/events tab.

Please arrive at the pool no later than 4:45 so that you can set up and get your
swimmers ready. They will stretch at 4:45 and begin pool warm up at 5:00.
The meet starts promptly at 6 PM. They will be given their swim caps before warm up.

Please remember that we reserve our parking lot for the visiting team. We also reserve the right side of the pool for our visiting team (Along shallow end and basketball goal side.) We set up across the pool.

We will have concessions available: Water, Gatorade, soft drinks, fruit, baked goods, snacks and candy, Bella Italia Pizza, Chick Fil A Sandwiches and Oh! Mochi donuts. There will be a 50/50 raffle, also. Thanks to the Garkalns family for handling Concessions once again this year. Thank you, also, to the Barnes family for the CFA Sponsorship. (We still have some Baked Goods and Fruit slots open- if you are able to donate please signup.)

You are welcome to bring sun shades and I recommend bringing chairs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not leave the meet until you have checked in with Coach Sam. We need to know if you need to leave as the lineup, especially relays, are impacted by any missing swimmers. Those lineup changes involve alot of work and impact many people. Besides other swimmers getting moved around as a result or relays getting canceled, changes impact me as the Meet Admin, the Clerk of Course, Kid Pushers, our Starter, Coaches trying to fill spots- it is ALOT!

Summary of actions needed:

  • Volunteer if possible for last remaining open positions for today's meet
  • Notify Coach Sam and I immediately if there is a change to your declarations or job sign ups.
  • Concession donations- please bring to pool.
  • Signups for rest of season are open- meet declarations, Muchin Marlins lead and RSVP's etc.

Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to read all of this! As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

GO MARLINS!
