Greetings Manchester!

We look forward to hosting you at our swim meet on Tuesday! Below is some information you may find helpful. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Directions and Parking

Our street address is 4425 Oak Park Road, Raleigh. We have two parking lots. One is on the road before you can see the pool itself, and one is down the gravel driveway past the pool. The driveway is one-way, so if there is no parking available in the second lot, you will end up back on Oak Park Road and will need to take a right to head back toward the entrance to the pool. Parking is limited so any effort your families can make to carpool would be greatly appreciated. Many cars end up parking on Oak Park Road on meet nights. Parking is also available on Connell Drive where it intersects with Fernham. There is a short walking path that connects the pool to Connell.

Concessions

We have a team-run concession stand during home meets with proceeds benefiting the swim team. This Tuesday, we will be serving Nachos, Hot Dogs, Marco’s Pizza by the slice, along with a selection of snacks, sweets, and drinks. Cash and cards are accepted. There is a $5 minimum to use a credit card.

Swimming Lanes

We have 5 swimming lanes numbered 1-5. Lane 1 has a slide partially in the lane and lane 5 has the deep end corner which can be challenging for backstroke swimmers not used to this. You will use lanes 2 & 4 for main events as those are 100% clear of any obstructions. There will be only 2 swimmers from each team per Main Event.

Warm-Ups

As the visiting team, you will warm-up at 5:30.

Extra Events

We will host a 25-yard butterfly for 6&U swimmers immediately after they swim breaststroke with a sweet treat at the end and welcome your 6&U’s to participate. We just line them up and send them off in waves - very informal.

As this is our last home meet, we will take a few moments to recognize our two senior swimmers. I’m not sure if this will be before the meet or after breaststroke.

50/50 Raffle

We will be doing a CASH ONLY 50/50 raffle during the meet for $2 per entry (3 for $5). The drawing will be held immediately following the 6&U Butterfly (right after 6&U Breaststroke).

Deck Area and Facilities

Below is a map of our pool deck. (One update: The Meet Administrator’s table will be right behind the starter near Lane 1) We will have some chairs set up in your team area, however, it is recommended that folks bring their own folding chairs if they are able. We have restrooms available with showers and changing areas.

Timing and Judging

We appreciate you having 5 timers available Tuesday evening. We will be using Time Drops as our timing system and will supply your timers with everything they need. We will have an Order of Finish judge who will work collaboratively with your Order of Finish judge as a supplement to our timing system.

Officials Meeting

Timers, judges, TSA Reps, and the Starter will meet near the starter’s stand at 5:40 to go over final meet instructions.

Awards

At the meet, we will hand out Heat Participant and Heat Winner ribbons as swimmers exit the pool. We will take care of the rest of the ribbons in the days after the meet and will deliver them to you as soon as possible.
