Munchin Marlins next week is Pasta Night- thank you to Renee Miller, Maggie Lloyd, Bethany White and Connie Garkalns for collaborating on this final Munchin Marlins of the season. Signups will be updated in a few days.
Thanks also to Brandi Norman for the meal last week! And to Lauren Ward for coordinating Pizza Night last night.
Final thanks to all of the parents who contributed each week by donating food and helping to serve- the kids really love this time together and it is only a success because of you all!
Meet Tuesday 7/8 at home against Lifetime Raleigh:
You will need to arrive at our pool so that your swimmers are ready to stretch on the pool deck by 4:45, our pool warmup time is 5:00-5:30. Meet starts at 6 PM. Lifetime has a similar size team so the meet should run fast.
Any declaration changes: please notify Coach Sam (919-455-4975) and me (919-345-9359) immediately.
As it is our last home meet we usually have some special events:
- Senior Night- recognize those who are graduating and aging out. (Before 15-18 Freestyle events)
- Cupcake Race- for 6 and Unders- this will take place after the 15-18 Breast stroke events. Any 6 and Under can participate- they will swim the entire length of the pool, not just to the rope. Once they get to the end they will receive a cupcake. (There will still be kid catchers in the water.) This is a fun way to "graduate" to the next level of swimming. *** I will need help handing out cupcakes. Please let me know if you can assist.
Volunteers needed for 7/1 Meet
Open positions are:
- Head Timer (backup in case a timer misses a start or finish)
**** Thank you to all of our volunteers this week! Almost all positions filled!! We will be using one timer per lane, with stopwatches, so it is very important to have a head timer.
Registration Fees:
Thank you to those who have paid. If you have not, please drop off payment at practice or place in my folder in the ribbon box.
Ribbons from last week:
Meredith Townes notified me last night that our ribbons from last week are ready- I will pick them up tomorrow and they will be in your folders tomorrow, along with tonight's ribbons. I apologize for the delay.
Saving Grace Fundraiser:
Reminder that we will be collecting items to donate to Saving Grace Animals for Adoption. Collection will take place during our Awards Ceremony on July 17th, or another time that you rearrange with me.
Some items that they always need are: Paper towels, 55 and 13 gallon trash bags, fleece or wool blankets, towels, sheets, small comforters, canned dog food, Purina One dry dog food, Pill Pockets, Hand Sanitizer, Disinfecting Wipes, Dog Shampoo, Treats, and Harris Teeter gift cards.
For other ideas please visit savinggracenc.org - they are a great organization and I know many Manchester dogs are from there! Thank you for any support you can offer.
End of Season Awards Banquet:
Will be held at the pool Thursday 7/17. (We are not scheduling it for Wed 7/16 so that date can be left open if there is a weather delay during Tuesday's meet. It also gives us time to pick up awards.) It will be a Potluck with cake provided. Bring your own drinks. Will start at 6 with dinner then awards. If you have any pictures from the season please forward to me. If someone would like to help me by ordering and picking up with team cake please let me know.
Lessons:
Coaches Sam, Jessie and Andrew are available for swim lessons. If you are interested, or know anyone who is, please contact Coach Sam at 919-455-4975. She will assign a coach to the lesson based on swimmer skill level and scheduling availability. Evenings after practice or weekends are the nest time but we can work around your schedule. Cost for members is $20 for individual 30 minute lesson and $30 for group 30 minute lesson. If you have any questions you can also contact me at 919-345-9359.
