Meet details - 6/18 at Meredith Towns

Hi,

Please arrive at Meredith Townes by 5:15 PM at the latest- ready to stretch. Our in water warm up time is 5:30-6 PM and the meet starts promptly at 6 PM.

****If you have any changes to your declaration please let me know immediately. There is more paperwork, league documentation and timing software than you would believe that has to be updated and it helps to know of any changes sooner rather than later.

Meredith Townes pool is different than most of you are familiar with.  It is 5 lanes and 25 meters, not yards.  There are only 4 main event lanes so we can only put 2 swimmers in each main event as opposed to our normal 3.  Regarding the pool length- our swimmers are very capable of doing the extra length but wanted to alert you.  For those who track their times please note that your times will be higher because of the meters vs. yards.

I received the following from their TSA Rep:

Welcome to Meredith Townes Pool, home of the Meredith Townes Mudpuppies!

• Address: 3250 Morningside Drive, Raleigh.

•  Parking: Visiting teams are welcome to park in our pool lot, the lot on Westbury Drive, and street parking. Never park in the townhouse lots (unless that is your home, of course). Thank you! Please remember that parking is prohibited within 25 feet of an intersection, such as Morningside and Wycliff and Morningside and Westbury. Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of a fire hydrant and, as a courtesy, we encourage you to park several feet from driveways and court entrances.

• Seating: Visitor area is to the left after entering the pool. Seating will be removed from the deck. Bring your own chair and shade. Consider bringing a blanket (and bug spray) and spectating from The Hill.

• Concessions: The Snack Shack sells pizza, drinks, and snacks with profits benefitting the Mudpuppies. We are also excited to have All on Top Dogz Hogdog Cart at our meet June 18th offering hot dogs, hamburgers, and nachos.

• Volunteers: Ribbon writers and scorers will be in the cabana near the blocks. Timers and judges will meet at 5:45 in the parking lot, just outside the pool gate.

• Pool: We are a five-lane pool. Main events occur in lanes 1-4.

• Timing System: We use the Time Drops timing system. Being that we use time drops, we would like to have one timer from Manchester in each lane, and we will have one timer in each lane also. We will let the system average the two times to obtain the official time and order of finish for the swimmers of each heat. We find this provides the best times, especially for the first heats. We are open to having an exhibition swimmer in lane 5 to move along the meet.

If you have any questions please let me know.  GO MARLINS!
