- Redline Athletics- 2nd workout scheduled for Wednesday May 25 at 7 PM
- Swim Suits

- Volunteer Positions needed
- Update from Coach Sam

No Practice Monday 5/30
There will be no swim practice on Monday 5/30 due to the Memorial Day Holiday. MSRC will be holding their annual Open House next weekend. There will also be a Potluck and Silent Auction on Monday with proceeds to benefit MSRC. This is a great way to socialize with teammates while supporting our club!
Redline Athletics
We had 8 Marlins attend a workout class last week with Redline Athletics and they had a great time! There is a 2nd class scheduled for Wednesday May 25 at 7 PM. Please let Kristen Ivory ([email protected]) know if you are interested in attending.
Team Swim Suits:
If you wanted to purchase a team swim suit and you have not already done so, please call All American Swim and place your order. You will pay over the phone and then you can either pick it up, have them ship or have a Manchester Rep pick it up. If you have any questions please contact me.
Payment of Registration Fees:
This is just a reminder for those who have not paid their swimmers registrations fees. If you have any questions about how to pay please contact me.
We are in dire need of volunteers for season long positions for Swim Team. These are above and beyond volunteering at a meet. If these positions are not filled we cannot run a successful meet. I realize that there are many new families or some that only joined after Covid and have not participated in an actual meet and have not seen firsthand the large number of volunteers needed to run a swim team or a meet. If you are willing to volunteer you will be trained by someone who has fulfilled that role in the past. You also do not have to do it alone- many of these positions can be shared if you have a friend that would like to do it with you. A very pared down and consolidated list of the Volunteers needed are:
Team Manager- Much of the work has already been done (Ordering ribbons, caps, setting up suits, hiring coaches, etc.) This position is the central point of contact for all things swim team (between the MSRC Board, Aquatech, Coaches and Swim Team members), coordinates all Volunteer chairs and handles all Communications. If you would like to learn more about this position and perhaps shadow me so that you can be involved next year please let me know.
Concessions- at 3 home meets. Can be as simple or as complex as you want. Without concessions I am not sure we can host a meet. Creates Menu, coordinates food and drink donations from team (baked goods, fruit, soda, gatorade, water), sets up "hot items" like pizza, chick fil a sandwiches, nachos or something like that (does not have to involve the grills on deck.) Buys candy and chips to sell. Makes sure concession stand is staffed throughout meet. Handles 50/50 raffle and all money earned through sales.
Munchin Marlins- the Monday evening prior to each meet this person arranges either a potluck or coordinates a food order from a local restaurant. Could even be a food truck. In the past this was one of the favorite events for the swimmers. Again, this can be as easy or as complex as you want- you can organize every week, or find someone or even a group to lead each week.
Fundraising- Kristen Ivory has been handling this, if anyone has any contacts of someone you believe would be willing to sponsor our team, please reach out to her. We include sponsors names on our website, shirts and pool banner, along with announcing them at our home meets. If this is your area of expertise please consider helping.
Membership/Social this is currently being taken care of by TSA Rep (since there is no Team Manager) and by the Coaches. They will organize the Cupcake Race, Senior Gifts/Speeches, Ice Cream Socials after the meets, etc. If anyone would like to assist your help would be greatly appreciated.
I will be posting a complete updated listing of what Volunteer positions are required- some have been consolidated from what is already on the team website. (I have not listed above any positions that are already filled.) I hope to have that done tomorrow.
If you have any interest and would like to know time commitments and what is really involved in each position, please reach out to me. I would be happy to discuss any positions as we are really down to the wire.
Coach Sam update:
Attached is the weekly update from Coach Sam.
Alerts from Swimtopia Mobile App:
I have sent an alert notifying you that this update has been emailed. It is vital that you are receiving alerts from the App as that is our only way to communicate urgent information. I previously sent an email noting that you need to log into the team website first in order to associate your account with our team (if you log into the App and see "Guest" next to Team/Account, you are not associated with our team.) You also need to enable notifications in the App. If you only received an email and no alert this evening please contact me and I can work through any issues with you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! It is much appreciated!!
